Hello 2016!

Boy, do I have some catching up to do!  We have been busy, busy kindergarteners as you can probably tell from the weekly newsletters.  The end of second quarter came and went in January and now we are coming to the end of our first week in February.  It's just too hard to believe.  Assessments and snow days made for a very exciting (and flexible) time. Here are some important information/things to remember:

  • Please read every night with your child.  This helps build their confidence as readers and they become stronger and more independent.
  • The end goal for kindergarten is to count to 100.  The goal for the end of March is 75.  Counting is easy to practice anywhere - the car, while making dinner, before bed.
  • We are setting new goals over the course of the coming week and will be sending a copy of that goal home.
  • We have a class goal of having 80% of our class to be able to tie his or her own shoe independently by April.  Please practice shoe tying at home.
  • We are spiraling back through the seven habits.  Each week there is a parent handout for the habit we are covering on the back of our newsletters (sent home Mondays).  This week is Habit 1 - Be Proactive.  Next week is Habit 2 - Begin with the End in Mind.
Here are some pictures from the past several weeks to catch us up!

It's never too late to share cute pictures from Christmas!

My girls enjoyed their time in the snow.
